Shopping
The town of Jaco Beach has been a surfing mecca for Americans, Canadians, Europeans and Costa Ricans since the 1960s and first incorporated in 1980. Jaco has evolved and grown ever since but it retains its small-town feel. Jaco’s main street is full of restaurants, bars, gift shops, clothing stores and souvenir stands plus all the businesses the locals frequent. Grocery shopping is convenient offering access to ATMs. Pharmacies, doctors and dentists are handy. On the main drag you will find handmade jewelry, local art work and sculpture. Starting at the south end of town walk your way north along main street and you will discover the real Jaco Beach – a blend of diversity.
Jaco Walk
In 2017 Jaco Walk – an ultra-modern open-air shopping mall – opened. It’s a marvelous addition to Jaco and only a mile from Casa Rio Mar. In Jaco Walk you will discover some of the finest cuisine this beach town has to offer — complete with evening entertainment in the Center Court promenade surrounded by boutiques, beach shops, open-air restaurants and bars with homemade craft beers.
Restaurants
There are well over 100 restaurants in Jaco Beach serving a wide variety of choices including typical Costa Rican, great pizza, European gourmet, Thailand/Bali, Oriental, Italian, Peruvian, Columbian, organic and vegetarian, sushi and full-menu American steakhouses with seafood. Many of Jaco’s finest eateries are on Jaco’s main drag or beachfront. We are happy to recommend our favorites you’d be proud to take your family and friends for delightfully tropical dining experiences.
Bars and Night Clubs
Jaco Beach is well known for its active all-night party scene. There are numerous sports bars with large flat-screen TVs, DJ-disco-hip-hop dance clubs and a couple of those other clubs that offer adult entertainment. There are also several casinos in Jaco.
